Zayla Carter is a Junior Music Media Production student.
“Music has always been a big part of my life and it always seemed intuitive to me that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. I never really struggled with any subjects in high school and always felt bored, but music has always given me a good challenge where I feel like I’m constantly learning something or looking at something from a new angle. My freshman year I took an intro to recording class, which was the first time I ever thought about the possibility of working in a recording studio or with live sound. For the final project, I got together with one of my friends and recorded a cover of one of our favorite songs and loved how creative the whole process was. I realized that I could take a more entrepreneurial route with my future career and make something all on my own or at least be a big part of someone else’s project.”
