Joshua Melocoton is a senior clarinetist from Chicago, IL.

“Ever since I started playing clarinet at the age of 10, I found that playing the instrument helped me express myself as someone who was a shy kid. It created an outlet to express how I felt. One of the biggest reasons I chose Ball State was for my clarinet professor Dr. Elizabeth Crawford, a wonderful teacher who has helped me grow immensely as a musician. Along with that, the facilities and the people in the School of Music are very welcoming. My fondest memory at Ball State was being able to perform Weber’s Concerto No. 2 with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. The amount of work that led up to it along with our amazing orchestra was something that I will always remember!”
