Hayden Giesseman is a second year Doctor of Arts clarinetist.

“One of my favorite memories of Ball State so far was being in the pit orchestra last Fall for the Ball State Department of Theatre and Dance‘s A Little Night Music. I had such a fun time being a part of that production as it reminded me why I love music and performing! I have always loved being in pit orchestras for musicals and operas and I always smile when I think back on the production.

“At Ball State there was a warm and welcome feeling I got when I first came on campus. They always say ‘when you know, you know.’ On my audition day, I had a lesson and a meeting with Dr. Crawford, and I felt an instant connection that made me feel welcome, inspired, and that I ‘fit in’ here for lack of better word. From there, with my meetings and various correspondences with Dr. Crawford, Dr. Pohly, and those in the Music History department reminded me that this was the place to go, and I am very happy I made that decision!”
