Daniel Daily, a senior music education major who is part of the backstage crew for concert halls in the School of Music.

“There is more than just opening and closing a door for people on stage. There is a lot of set up for all of the ensembles and recitals that use Sursa and Hahn Halls. We change all of the acoustics of the halls as well as make sure the lighting is correct for each performance and rehearsal. Along with that we make sure all of the performers and instruments are where they need to be at all times to make sure both are safe for the performance. The best part about the job is being able to see the joy on people’s faces when they are done performing! When working a recital or a concert, I get to be the first to see their emotions when they walk off the stage.” 📸 @jkwcreative
