Alexandra Nicole Billhartz is a second-year master’s student from New Baden, IL.

“My two years at Ball State have truly shaped me as a performer, person, and educator. I have been able to grow as a performer through my involvement with the Ball State Opera Theatre and Chamber Choir, and the guidance of wonderful and supportive mentors. I have been blessed with many musical opportunities during my time on campus that have allowed me to grow as a performer, person, and educator as I continue my career after graduation this May.”

Alexandra will perform the National Anthem at Ball State’s Spring 2019 Commencement.

“I have sung the National Anthem at some of my high school’s basketball games and at my high school graduation, but this particular event requires a different mindset for preparation. Being selected to sing the National Anthem for the Spring Commencement is a prestigious honor and a momentous way to end my time as a graduate student. I am currently practicing this deceivingly difficult song to prepare for the full performance in front of the Ball State community as a representative of the School of Music. This will make my Commencement even more special and will be a true highlight of my performance career so far!”
