Alex Karker is a junior music performance major from Houston, Texas.
“I chose Ball State over other schools because it has amazing string faculty and performance spaces. I love Sursa Hall because of how it is structured and allows string instruments to really sing. I also like how campus is not too big and not too small, and that all my classes are pretty close together. My fondest memory here so far has been the opportunity to play in the pit for various productions. My favorite time in the pit was when the Ball State Symphony Orchestra played the Nutcracker in Emens Auditorium with dancers from the Department of Theater and Dance … I LOVE Tchaikovsky’s ballets, so this was a dream come true!”
