Pride of Mid-America Marching Band September Recap

The Pride of Mid-America Marching Band has been back in full swing for the month of September! Between two football games and preparation for the October 24^th Showcase, POMA has been busy rehearsing and bringing the hype to our football team and fans throughout September!

POMA started the month off with their first 2021 home football game on Thursday, Sept. 2! At this game, the marching band performed their halftime show “Celebrate!”, a show about enjoying what you love to do. POMA was thrilled to be back at Scheumann Stadium and proud to play the Victory March for Ball State fans as the Ball State football team won against Western Illinois.

Following our celebratory theme, POMA was excited to welcome back family members on Sept. 25 for Ball State’s annual Family Day! The families of the Pride of Mid-America were invited to attend our own Family Day activity, featuring donuts, coffee, and pregame drill. We would like to thank all the families who attended Family Day and we hope to have them back again next year! At the Family Day football game, POMA debuted their “Americana” show in honor of the Ball State vs. the Army game that occurred on Oct. 2.

Have you had a chance to see both of our halftime shows? If not, you still have an opportunity! On October 24 at 3 p.m. in Scheumann Stadium, the Pride of Mid-America is hosting their 2^nd annual Showcase Performance. During this showcase event, sections will perform features, children five and under are invited to conduct with the Drum Majors, seniors from the 2020 season are invited back to march Pregame with POMA, State Fair Band Champions Muncie Central High School will perform side-by-side with the Pride, and the marching band will perform both the “Americana” and “Celebrate!” shows! Mark your calendars for our next few events! POMA will be participating in the Homecoming Parade and performing at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 23!
