The 10th Annual School of Music Showcase will take place at Sursa Hall this Friday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. The Showcase invites both an in-person and a virtual audience to attend to hear all the varieties of ensembles and performances that the School of Music has to offer!
“My favorite part about the School of Music Showcase is both watching and performing alongside all of my great friends and musicians,” said senior Alyssa Santiváñez while sharing her favorite parts about the Showcase. “I am so lucky to have opportunities to play with such advanced players who push me to be the best musician possible!”
From a variety of jazz, band, orchestra and choral ensembles to chamber groups and soloists, the School of Music Showcase offers a variety of talents from students in the School of Music. You can experience the showcase in-person at Sursa Hall, or you can livestream it from the comforts of your own home. Even the live audience will experience the virtual nature of the concert. Performances will occur both on-stage in Sursa Hall as well as in Hahn Hall with a livestream of the Hahn Hall performances projected on the screen in Sursa Hall.
School of Music Showcase event coordinator Chris Van Hof is looking forward to this year’s Showcase. After a year of the event only being presented entirely online, it will be exciting to have both a live audience as well as a virtual one.
“From a faculty perspective, the Showcase represents a chance to see all my colleagues and students that I work with in the school,” said Dr. Van Hof. “It is also a great opportunity to raise money for scholarships for future students who will be in our school.”
For this year’s Showcase, there will be an opportunity to donate to Bravo! Scholarship Fund, a scholarship that was established in 2016 to help support outstanding and well-rounded musicians. This giving opportunity benefits future School of Music students and will allow them to continue their musical passion. We thank you in advance for your support!
Tickets for in-person attendance to this event are currently being sold online, in-person at the College of Fine Arts Box Office located at Sursa Hall, or by phone at 765-285-8749. Remember to check the School of Music Showcase event page for additional information regarding parking, livestream feed, and safety regulations. We cannot wait to see everyone and to hear all our performers this Friday!
