The Pride of Mid-America Marching Band is back in rehearsal for our 2020 season! With one day of online band camp and two weeks of online sectionals, we are happy to be back on the field in a safe, socially distanced rehearsal!

Although this season is different compared to years past, POMA is proud to still continue the many traditions that we hold dear to the ensemble. To keep up with the regulated guidelines, numerous safety measures have been put in place to ensure that POMA members are collaborating at safe distances on and off the field. With specially designed playing masks and bell covers, POMA is ensuring a safe environment to continue to play and perform music.

Winds and Brass members of the Ball State marching band are separated into three different ensembles: Benny Band, Frog Baby Band, and Charlie Band. The drumline and color guard members remain in their own rehearsal groups as well. Although the winds and brass bands have been united in learning drill with the drumline, we are eagerly awaiting the day that the color guard members join in the fun as well.

Despite the cancellation of the initial football season, the Pride of Mid-America Marching Band is still preparing for a showcase performance on October 17th, with a rain date of October 18th. Mark your calendars for this event and follow our social media, listed below, for more updates about it! The showcase will feature our 70s Flashback show, which includes favorite tunes like Bicycle Race, Disco Inferno, and Dancing Queen.

Even though our 2020 season did not start out the way we expected it to be, POMA is excited to continue to make memories and keep traditions going this season. We have been working hard this September for our showcase performance, and we hope to have your support when we step onto the field on October 17th. Remember to follow our social media to not only stay up to date with all of POMA’s activities, but to also be personally engaged with the members of POMA. Chirp chirp and Go Cards!
