Starting a new job can be both exciting and overwhelming, especially in a field as dynamic as information technology in the higher education space. To properly welcome new faculty and ensure their success, Information Technology designed, printed and assembled welcome boxes to greet our new colleagues.

Faculty members and student workers met several times over the course of a few weeks to present and discuss ideas for items they believed would benefit new faculty at Ball State. The goal of the project was to help the new faculty members get excited for their new journey and provide them with supplies that will make their first year run smoothly.

Krista Finley, Project Manager at the Digital Corps, worked heavily on assembling the boxes. “I love outsourcing for promotional items and seeing it come together. This project was a lot of fun,” Finley said.

Together, students and staff members assembled 150 boxes in two weeks. Some of the items in the boxes included cable bags to keep cords and/or cables organized, USB flash drives, lanyards, and more. We are excited for new faculty to receive these boxes and we cannot wait to see how they fly with us at Ball State!
