In less than two weeks, Compass Advantage and the College of Sciences and Humanities will host the annual Star Party, helping students find their “true north”.
The Star Party is an opportunity for humanities majors to join student organizations, meet other students, learn about study abroad opportunities, eat delicious pizza, and much more. As an “activity for introverts,” the event brings students, faculty, and staff together to showcase all the Ball State Humanities has to offer. Join the Anthropology and humanities departments—English, History, Modern Languages & Classics, and Philosophy and Religious Studies—for a party to remember!
As a humanities student, you may not be aware of all the opportunities that come with a humanities degree. The annual event is meant to be your first step in discovering your niche, gaining new skills, and prepare for the future. As the Director of Compass Advantage Cathy Day claims, there are two things you will get from the humanities, “an intellectual community of like-minded people and skills [you can] use in the real world.” The Star Party will get you started.
Last year’s Star Party displayed over 40 organizations for students to learn about, including Cartoon Collaborative, Broken Plate, and Book Arts Collaborative. No matter what you are interested in, the Star Party will have something for you.
We look forward to meeting you on September 13th, from 5-7 pm, on the North West Residence Hall Patio. Make new friends, have insightful conversations, find a fun club, and eat lots of pizza at this year’s Star Party!
