Dr. Michael Pilla joins the Ball State Department of Mathematical Sciences as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematical Sciences

What is your journey to Ball State?

I received my PhD in mathematics from Purdue University. I spent a few years at Indiana University, Bloomington before coming to Ball State University.

What are your research and teaching interests?

My research interests include several complex variables and operator theory. My teaching interests include teaching the calculus sequence and complex analysis.

What are some of your goals for your first year here?

To be a successful teacher and researcher. The students at Ball State University are fantastic and imparting knowledge to them in a meaningful way would be a great success for me.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family.
