Scott Linton, Senior Systems Programmer and Analyst in Information Technology Services, will be retiring from Ball State after nearly 22 years of service. His last day will be on Friday, April 2nd.
Scott has been a key part of Information Technology while at Ball State, participating in many university-wide technology projects and providing services and support to multiple departments across campus. “Mr. Mainframe,” as he is known to his colleagues in IT, was an important part of working with and maintaining Ball State’s original mainframe infrastructure and was instrumental in the transition from the mainframe environment to our current cloud-based infrastucture.
Todd Phelps, Director of Enterprise Systems and Operations, and Scott’s supervisor, says:
“Scott is an exemplary employee. His dedication and attention to detail are second-to-none. He will be missed here in ITS.”
Baseball has been a large part of Scott’s life and his retirement will give him more opportunity to pursue his current role as an umpire for local baseball games.
Please join us in wishing Scott well in his retirement!
