Information Technology’s Digital Corps has collaborated with Chris Flook, Associate Lecturer of Telecommunications, and in cooperation with the Ball Brothers Foundation, to create a community development video series called Moving Forward. The goal of the series is to highlight amazing stories, people, and organizations in our area that are continuing to make an impact on the Muncie and surrounding communities. As Chris was putting together his team – which included a graduate assistant leading the charge to direct these pieces – he recognized a need for some additional assistance from the Digital Corps.

Brandon Smith, Director of the Digital Corps, complimented Fluke for his leadership on the project.

“We’ve worked with Chris a lot over the years, so he was familiar with the way we work and the product we produce. I appreciate the credit Chris gives to our team, but he was truly the leader for the whole initiative – from the funding to the storytelling. We were pleased to be invited to lend a hand.”

Under the guidance of Chris and his GA, the Digital Corps sent student video producers all over Delaware County to capture supporting footage for these documentaries. From basketball games to in-school video shoots, the Digital Corps provided a portion of the videos used in these stories. In addition, Digital Corps students were called upon to provide production support during some of the on-camera interviews. Chris took all the footage his team and our team captured to edit the stories into the final series episodes, which are available to view on Vimeo.
