If you pull together quality design, quick-thinking, and a leader with compassion and wits, you’ll end up with rockstar Design Master Laura Latham. Graduating with her BFA in Graphic Design, Laura has been non-stop throughout her Ball State career and is ready for the next chapter to unfold.
During her freshman year, Laura’s mom stumbled upon a Facebook post about a design position at the Corps. After a little convincing, Laura decided to apply. After a couple of interviews, the Design Team was excited to welcome Laura to the team. Since then, Laura has soared into projects and leadership, bringing a positive light into everyday work.

“I have learned to always ask questions and not be afraid to ask questions. It’s okay to not really know what’s going on because that leads to conversations that can make the best thing possible.”
Laura has taken on an immeasurable number of projects since the beginning of her collegiate career, highlighting a Corps project with Ball State’s Office of Governmental Relations.
Working with the client, the User Experience Team, and the Development Team, she designed an interactive map of Indiana that showcases all the projects Ball State has done. She noted that she was able to design this site and give a quality project a quick turnaround.
“I have learned to go into every situation knowing that I am going to learn something.”
But beyond design, Laura takes well-roundedness to an extreme. In her free time, she loves doing yoga, watching movies, and drawing. In addition to her hobbies, she is also a part of Sigma Kappa, a sorority on campus.
In her sorority she has had the opportunity to be in multiple leadership roles, being in government roles every year. Notably, this past year Laura was the President of Sigma Kappa, giving her the chance to sharpen her leadership and organizational skills before graduation.
“I intentionally reach out to people through my projects to make sure I am doing my work in a way that makes their job easier for them and in turn them.”
In her time at the Corps, Laura has come up to the plate and hit it out of the park over and over again. Her design skills combined with her compassion for other students have made her a strong Digital Corps asset, ready to take on anything that comes her way.
With her multiple internships, time at the Corps, advanced-level classes, and leadership capabilities, Laura is ready and more than capable to take on whatever adventure falls into her path. Her level of skill and dedication will be deeply missed by the Corps and deeply appreciated in her future!
