MONDAY | APR 1 | 4PM | AB 100
New York City interior designer and CAP alumnus Neal Beckstedt will be the guest lecturer in the Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning at 4 p.m. April 1 in AB 100.
Neal Beckstedt Studio’s hallmark is “warm modernism” which is “artfully realized by curating a conscious integration of vintage, contemporary, and custom furnishings. The result is singular and refined; a space where tradition meets contemporary allure,” according to a studio profile.
Mr. Beckstedt, who holds a degree in architecture from Ball State, has been recognized by Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, House Beautiful, The New York Times, Luxe, and New York Magazine, among others. His prowess is further underscored by consecutive appearances on the ELLE Decor A-List, and it culminates in his latest accolade as a member of Architectural Digest’s AD100 list.
This spring he is launching a furniture gallery in Brooklyn’s Navy Yard where he will debut his own line of furniture alongside a collection of vintage and antique pieces.
Discussion points are:
- Studying a few case studies of past architects that designed holistically
- Inspiring students to design everything down to the chair in projects
- Understanding how interiors are critical in architecture
- Realizing the importance of collaboration in architecture with interior designers and others
