The William & Evelyn Stokes Art or Mathematics Educators Scholarship is dedicated to supporting students demonstrating financial need in pursuing an undergraduate degree in Art or Math education at Ball State University. Twelve Ball State students were awarded the 2022-2023 scholarships, and as the 2023-2024 deadline to apply approaches, we are highlighting a few of this year’s winners.

What are you studying at Ball State?

Art Education

What makes you want to become an educator/teacher?

I want to be a teacher that is able to change a kid’s view on school and art itself. The passion to be able to influence students is what encouraged me to become a teacher.

What made you choose Ball State?

I had heard how good of a school Ball State was for education majors and the arts. So, I think coming here was my best option. Also, my friend needed a roommate.

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?

I like to play Minecraft and draw.

I can give people tattoos

Do you have a favorite artist, art style, or media?

I really love surrealism artwork.
