Thirty-three of the 200 high-achieving high school and college students who were awarded a Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education will be attending Ball State University in the fall.

Did you participate in any extracurricular activities in high school?

I participated in basketball, tennis, Athletic Leadership Council, Student Government, National Honor Society, Junior Optimist Club, Student Congregation, and Riley Dance Marathon.

What are you planning on studying at Ball State?

I plan on majoring in secondary education and minoring in Kinesiology.

What makes you want to become an educator/teacher?

The positive impact that I will have the opportunity to make on my students.

My dad and my 3 older siblings went to Ball State (one is going to be junior) and it seemed like a perfect fit for me based on my major.

When you think about heading to college in the fall, is there something you are most excited about/looking forward to?

I am looking forward to the change that I am going to experience and the new people I am going to meet.

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?

I love to lift and play sports in my free time.

In elementary school I memorized over 200 digits of pi.
