This fall, UTS proudly participated in the BSU Centennial Football Activity Challenge 2024, with two teams stepping up to celebrate Ball State University’s 100 years of football. The event, sponsored by the Office of Engagement, Wellbeing, and Culture, brought back the popular six-week fall activity challenge, encouraging movement, teamwork, and campus-wide camaraderie.
The Absolutely Healthy UTS team, captained by Marchal Hudson, achieved an impressive total of 2,021,058 steps. Team members included Vicki Cooper, Grace McKee, Nathan Barnard, Brandon Campbell, and Isaiah Schevola. Their dedication and collective effort shone through the challenge, embodying the spirit of health and wellness.
Meanwhile, the Tech Titans, led by Jason Robbins, surpassed expectations with a remarkable total of 2,772,349 steps. Team members Darrell Ward, Christine Dudley, Jerry Pierce, Amy Brandon, and Lucas Reese showcased their commitment and energy, proving that every step counts toward achieving big goals.
Over 55 campus teams joined the challenge, which ran from Sept. 9 to Oct. 20. Each participant used personal fitness devices to track daily activity and submitted their weekly totals to an activity tracker form. The program highlighted the importance of physical activity and a sense of community among faculty, staff, and students. It was a true celebration of fitness and teamwork across Ball State!
This fun and challenging event was more than just a step competition—it was an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and embrace the Ball State football history. UTS looks forward to continuing this tradition and encourages everyone to get moving and stay healthy!
