Derek Bowen, Senior Systems Analyst for Financial Information Systems and Technology, won an IT Director Award at this year’s ceremony. Jeff George, Director of Financial Information Systems and Technology, enthusiastically bragged about Bowen and his work.  

“Derek Bowen is one of the best employees that has ever worked under me,” George said. “He has been in our department for almost two years and has quickly become the Banner finance system expert.” 

With just two years in his department and five years of working for Ball State overall, Bowen has quickly become a leader. When asked if Bowen was expecting his award, he said he was, “Pleasantly surprised.” 

“I always strive to add value and provide an exceptional level of service and support to the areas that I work with,” Bowen said. 

Bowen is always willing to lend a helping hand and assist anyone who needs it. He always takes on additional responsibilities and never complains about his work. Overall, he truly shined this year and is well deserving of his award. Congratulations to Bowen!
