Recently, the Ball State Teachers College leadership recognized a very big gap in the resources being provided to K-12 teachers in their attempts to move instruction online and, with fall still presenting a great deal of uncertainly, the time was right for some helpful information from the Teachers College faculty.
In coordination with Kate Shively, Kirsten Robbins, and Stefanie Onieal from the Teachers College, the Digital Corps helped create a Remote Teaching website. The site focuses on bringing Design Thinking principles to the Pre-School through 12th Grade classroom. The site consists of 6 modules addressing many different areas of instruction.
The Digital Corps focused on graphic design, web development, and video editing. Our partners in TC focused on content. And, because we are all working remotely, they also shot their own videos before we edited things together.
Of particular note was the speed at which this site was created, tested, and deployed. With the ongoing threat of this pandemic, there was no time to waste in getting this information to teachers.
