Welcoming new students to Ball State University is a key responsibility for the Unified Technology Support (UTS) Tech Center. As a branch of Information Technology, they create a supportive environment where students can access technical support, and resources so they can succeed academically. By offering a friendly and knowledgeable presence, we hope that every student knows that we are here to help them with any tech issues, from troubleshooting devices to providing advice on using the university’s digital platforms.

During orientation, IT welcomed new students to campus and provided them with essential information about the services available at the Tech Center. The presentation covered how to contact IT for help, the importance of keeping Ball State credentials secure, and student job opportunities within the department. They also covered key topics like DUO authentication, knowledgebase resources, and tips for managing personal devices. This information equips students with the tools they need to navigate their technology needs confidently throughout their time at Ball State.

The support UTS offers helps students feel confident knowing they have easy access to assistance. Whether it’s in-person, over the phone, or through our Helpdesk, the Tech Center is readily available to help with any technical difficulties that may arise.

“The UTS Tech Center, a division of IT, is here to support student success!” Marchal Hudson, Assistant Director of the UTS Tech Center, stated. This message highlights IT’s commitment to ensuring students have the technical foundation they need to succeed academically at Ball State. The Tech Center is in Bracken Library, room 101!
