Yolanda Velez has recently joined Ball State University’s IT department as a part-time Information and Operations Control Center (OCC) Representative. In her role, Velez will provide exceptional customer support by fielding phone calls and assisting individuals with their IT-related inquiries.

Bringing with her a wealth of experience in customer service and a background in call center environments, Velez is poised to deliver top-notch assistance to anyone reaching out to the OCC.

“My primary aim is to offer outstanding customer service and provide accurate information to all our callers,” Velez said.

Her proficiency in handling phone queries and her eagerness to aid those seeking help make her a valuable asset to the team. Outside of work, Velez enjoys spending her leisure time with her two cats and dog. Additionally, she is actively involved in various volunteer initiatives within the community.

You can often find Velez generously giving her time and support to organizations like Emens Theatre, Muncie Civic Theatre, Second Harvest Food Bank, Yorktown Reach Ministries, and AARP during the tax season.

The IT department is thrilled to welcome Velez and is confident in her ability to provide exceptional service. Let’s extend a warm welcome to her as she embarks on this new journey!
