Information Technology members volunteered at Ball State’s annual United Way Day of Action. This year, the event was held on September 14, and included several Muncie organizations.
The University encouraged all faculty and staff members to volunteer in several community projects near campus, including a hygiene product drive, a used book drive, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, putting together blankets and coats for children, and donating snacks to local child-care facilities.
Marchal Hudson, Assistant Director of Unified Technology Support, loved volunteering this year with members from her department. “It’s always great to give back,” she said.
Mark Watters, Director of Enterprise Project Support Office (EPSO), and his team also volunteered this year.
“Our team is full of people that are helpers and want to help people,” Watters said. “So, finding ways to volunteer and give back is part of this culture. We have found as a team that it bonds us and makes connections to the community and other volunteers.”
Volunteering is a crucial part of establishing community, and Ball State continues to fulfill this effort of serving their local community continuously. Thank you to all our IT faculty and staff members who volunteered for 2023 Day of Action!
