The Division of Information Technology would like to announce the upcoming retirement of Dan Lutz, Associate Vice President, effective July 1, 2021.

Dan began his relationship with Ball State University as a freshman in the fall of 1975, and later became a full-time employee. In his 40 year career at Ball State, he has worked in several academic and administrative departments.

In 1981, Dan directed the first two-way audio/video course offered between IU and BSU and was responsible for the very first e-Classroom design and installation in 1996. Dan was also instrumental in organizing and managing the Unified Technology Support unit.

Promoted to Associate Vice President in 2013, Dan has led the development and operation of University Media Services and the Digital Corps and has overseen our public television and radio stations.

For 40 years, Dan has made many important contributions to our division and to Ball State University through his dedication and hard work. His commitment to excellence will leave a lasting impact on Information Technology and those of us who worked with him. Dan’s last day will be June 30, 2021.
