Many Information Technology employees use their Android or iOS mobile devices to receive Ball State email or access other Ball State resources. On August 13, 2020, the Office of Information Security Services changed the passcode/PIN requirement for those devices from four digits to six digits for all Information Technology employees. A six-digit passcode/PIN is 100 times more secure than a four-digit passcode/PIN and will better protect your device and your Ball State accounts should it be lost or stolen.  There is a plan in place to require this for all employees and students on campus by the end of the calendar year.

This requirement is in addition to any biometrics, such as TouchID or FaceID on iOS/iPad OS, or the various fingerprint or facial recognition systems available on Android devices.
