A City Without Art Has No Achievements Worthy of Recording with Dr. Ned Griner

The author of Side by Side with Coarser Plants: The Muncie Art Movement, 1885-1985 and The Magnificent Benefactors: The HIstory of the Ball State University Museum of Art, Dr. Ned Griner leads Alliance members through an overview of the genesis of the arts in Muncie during the 50 years following the gas boom. He will also address some suggestions for the future.
Presented in honor of Muncie’s Sesquicentennial and the Indiana Bicentennial.

First-time guests free. $18 for Alliance members.

Taking place in the Ball Brothers Foundation Gallery, Nathan Deardorff will lead a discussion on American art, on display in the museum, from the 1800s-1900s.

George Wolfe Leads Meditation in the Museum
Friday | March 25 at 3:30 pm
Silent Meditation sessions are conducted by George Wolfe, Professor Emeritus and former director of the BSU Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution. This week’s meditation is titled “The Heart and Experience of Surrender.” These sessions last 45 minutes. Meet in the Owsley Asian Art Gallery in front of the Amidha Buddha. Chairs provided; bring a towel, mat, or blanket, if desired.

Dakota Hall leads an educational tour that discusses the European and American art, from the 1900s-2000s, on display in the Ball Brothers Foundation Gallery.
