What made you choose Ball State?<\/span><\/h3>\n

I chose to attend Ball State University because of the amazing education program. I knew that I would have numerous opportunities for community service and experience with students. I also fell in love with the campus and student life starting with my first visit. I definitely do not regret my decision \u2013 I love it here!!<\/p>\n

\"\"Are you involved with any campus organizations?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes! I currently hold the following roles:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • President of Education in Action<\/li>\n
  • Vice President of Kappa Delta Pi<\/li>\n
  • Member of Cardinal Teacher Corps<\/li>\n
  • Mentor in the Future Educators Peer Mentoring Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What made you want to become an educator\/teacher?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    I have always wanted to teach, but that passion has just grown as I have gotten older. I want to impact the future generations and share the passion for learning that I have acquired over the years. I have also found teaching to be one of the most fulfilling professions, and I am excited to continue building relationships with students and families in the coming years. The fun thing about elementary education is we have a huge chance to shape our students into good citizens and good human beings, along with the core curriculum. I am extremely passionate about social-emotional learning, so that will play a huge role in how I run my classroom.\"\"<\/p>\n

    Do you have any plans for what you would like to do after you graduate?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    I plan to teach in Indiana, but I am flexible on the exact location. Ideally, I will have the opportunity to teach middle elementary grades (2-4), but I am open to anything! I also plan to earn a graduate degree in either School Administration or School Counseling. I can\u2019t decide between being a school counselor or a principal in the future.<\/p>\n

    Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    \"\"I have recently taught myself knitting and embroidery. I also love cleaning and organizing! However, I don\u2019t have much free time, so I often spend the time I have with my friends or family.<\/p>\n

    Fun fact about yourself:<\/span><\/h3>\n

    I teach band in my hometown, and my band won the state championship this year!<\/p>\n

    Is there anything else you would like to add? Any fun projects you are working on? Favorite class\/professor?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    I am currently in the MICC (Mathematics in Cultural Contexts) Program. This is a great immersive learning experience. It\u2019s even better because the best Elementary Education professor is leading it, Mrs. Janet Jenkins!<\/p>\n
