The first event in the BSU is Better With You initiative was held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Union Missionary Baptist Church. The initiative seeks deeper relationships with traditionally under recognized communities in Muncie. By focusing on Black and Brown students and families, the initiative aims to let Muncie residents know that Ball State University sees and values the community. They want community members to be part of campus life, now and in the future.<\/p>\n

This first event promoted the belief that Black and Brown students can change the world. Students and families in grades 6-12 were invited to engage with Ball State University students, faculty, and staff to learn about college-related topics, ask questions, and visit with people representing a wide range of Ball State University programs and activities. Lunch was provided, and the Ball State majorette team Royal Elite performed.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
