\u201cMy work focuses on improving services and outcomes for autistic children, adolescents, and their families,\u201d she explains, emphasizing that her research is rooted in real environments, the places where support must work effectively to make a difference.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Central to Dr. Ruble\u2019s impact is COMPASS (Collaborative Model for Promoting Competence and Success), a widely recognized evidence-based coaching model she developed and continues to test, adapt, and expand. COMPASS has shaped national conversations around fidelity, sustainability, collaboration, and educator well-being. Her work illuminates the systems-level factors that affect service delivery, from organizational climate to teacher burnout. It also offers practical strategies to ensure that interventions are not only developed but sustained.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Dr. Ruble aims to strengthen the infrastructure of autism services. As she describes it: Her work ensures evidence-based practices are \u201cused well, used widely, and used in ways that genuinely improve lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"Sharing Knowledge Where It Matters Most<\/span><\/h3>\n

While her research is widely published and featured at leading national and international conferences, Dr. Ruble is equally committed to local impact.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition to national and intervention conferences and journals, I have shared our research with local audiences,\u201d she says, \u201cincluding school-based teams, parent support groups, and clinicians who specialize in autism interventions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of Dr. Ruble\u2019s greatest joys has been working with Ball State students who serve on her research team.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Ball State students who serve on my research team are truly integral to our work,\u201d she shares. \u201cI especially love watching their growth and confidence evolve over time as they develop into the next generation of autism service providers and researchers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Her guidance helps cultivate future leaders who are prepared not only to deliver services, but to innovate and improve them.<\/p>\n

Words of Advice: Keep Moving Forward<\/span><\/h3>\n

To students and emerging professionals, Dr. Ruble offers encouragement grounded in authenticity.<\/p>\n

\u201cFind your passion,\u201d she advises. \u201cWhen you are fortunate enough to truly love what you do, it no longer feels like work – you find the strength to persist, even in the face of difficulties.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Her advice for students echoes that theme of perseverance:<\/p>\n

\u201cShow up, do the work, and don\u2019t feel pressure to earn straight A\u2019s. Stay calm, find supportive colleagues and mentors, and remember that your academic journey is a process, not a destination.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"Finding Joy in Research, in Students, and Beyond<\/span><\/h3>\n

Across her projects, Dr. Ruble finds her greatest joy in witnessing student success.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy greatest joy comes from watching autistic students grow and succeed when their entire team comes together to support, encourage, and persist in fostering their success.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Outside of research, she finds fulfillment in creativity and exploration. She enjoys \u201cdinner parties, spending time and having adventures with family and friends, international travel, exploring in my teardrop camper, painting, sculpting, and photography.\u201d<\/p>\n
