MUNCIE, Ind. – Future educators took center court at the Ball State men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 8, as Teachers College recognized high school students who have committed to Ball State University for Fall 2025. The ceremony, held before tip-off, celebrated students who participated in the Flight Path to Teaching Adventure summer camp and have now officially signed their intentions to attend Ball State.
During halftime, the students were honored on the court in front of fans, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward becoming educators. The recognition highlights their dedication to the teaching profession and their connection to Teachers College’s Flight Path to Teaching Adventure, a three-year initiative funded by the Lilly Endowment.
The Flight Path to Teaching Adventure summer camp, launched by Teachers College in 2022, provides rising high school juniors and seniors interested in teaching with a unique, hands-on experience at no cost. Campers live in Ball State residence halls, dine on campus, engage in activities throughout the Muncie community, and serve as junior counselors at Summer Learning Fun at Camp Adventure.
As these future educators prepare to begin their college journey, their commitment to Ball State and the field of education stands as a testament to the university’s dedication to fostering the next generation of teachers.
