Proudly Educating the Next Generation

For Kenneth Denny, education is about more than teaching content—it’s about building community, sharing passion, and shaping the future. A Social Studies Education major at Ball State University, Kenneth is entering his sophomore year in Fall 2025 and is already committed to making an impact in Indiana classrooms.

“I want to be a teacher because I have a passion for helping others,” he says. “And I want to be involved with educating the next generation of students!”

Originally from Logansport, Indiana, Kenneth is also a recipient of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship: a prestigious, renewable scholarship that awards up to $10,000 annually to high-achieving students who commit to teaching in Indiana for five years after graduation.

Leadership Through Creativity and Collaboration

During high school, Kenneth demonstrated leadership and creativity in everything from athletics to the arts. He served as a sports manager, vice president of the art club, and editor of the yearbook; experiences that reflect his collaborative spirit and strong sense of responsibility.

Now, he’s continuing that energy at Ball State, where he’s found a welcoming community and a top-tier education program.

“Ball State is amazing!” Kenneth says. “I chose BSU because of the environment and for the education program.”

Looking Forward to What’s Next

As he heads into his second year on campus, Kenneth is most excited about reuniting with the friends he made during his first year. “I can’t wait to be back with my friends that I made last year!” he shares.

When he’s not in class or studying, Kenneth enjoys watching softball, traveling, attending music festivals, and spending time with friends and family.

Culturally Rooted and Future Focused

Kenneth is proud of his identity as an Alaskan Native and a member of the Yupik Peoples. His cultural heritage and personal passion for education continue to guide his goals, and we can’t wait to see the difference he’ll make in Hoosier classrooms.

Welcome back to Ball State, Kenneth!
