On Thursday, May 1, the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Ballroom was filled with celebration as Teachers College came together for the annual End of the Year Celebration. The event honored the outstanding achievements of faculty and staff whose contributions embody the mission and spirit of the college. From groundbreaking research and transformative teaching to meaningful service and milestone retirements, the evening was a heartfelt reflection of what makes Teachers College so exceptional: its people.

Honoring Our Retirees
At the Celebration we also recognized several esteemed colleagues as they retire from Teachers College:
Dr. Michelle Glowacki-Dudka retires after more than 20 years of transformative work in Adult and Community Education. A national leader in her field, she leaves behind a legacy defined by compassion, social justice, and scholarly excellence.
Dr. Sheron Fraser-Burgess concludes a 19-year career marked by scholarship in educational philosophy and a deep commitment to preparing culturally responsive educators. Her work has shaped students, colleagues, and conversations across higher education.
Dr. Carolyn Hitchens retires after 29 years of service, known for her innovative immersive learning projects and her dedication to creating engaging, inclusive learning experiences across the K–12 continuum.
Mr. Gary Pavlechko was honored for his quiet yet transformative leadership in the implementation of edTPA. His deep care for students and tireless support elevated the work of the Educator Preparation Program.
Ms. Cary Witter, Budget and Administrative Coordinator at the Indiana Academy, retires after 15 years of service. Her organizational expertise, supportive spirit, and generosity have made her a cornerstone of the Academy.
Ms. Cheryl Veatch, Admissions Office Coordinator at the Indiana Academy, retires after 19 years as the welcoming face of the school. Her professionalism, warmth, and team spirit have shaped countless student and family experiences.
These awards and recognitions represent just a glimpse into the incredible talent, dedication, and impact of our Teachers College community. Congratulations to all honorees and thank you for the ways you continue to shape lives and lead with purpose.
