Thirty-three of the 200 high-achieving high school and college students who were awarded a Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education will be attending Ball State University in the fall.

Did you participate in any extracurricular activities in high school?
I was involved in show choir, and Tri-M which is a music honors society. I was also in Best Buddies.
What are you planning on studying at Ball State?
I plan on majoring in Early Childhood Education and minoring in Special Education.
What makes you want to become an educator/teacher?
My aunt used to be a teacher and she inspired me to be one. On top of that, I love helping and inspiring kids.
What made you choose Ball State?
I’ve wanted to go here since I first started looking at colleges. It’s a beautiful campus and it’s not too far from home. They also have a great teaching program which I’m very excited to be a part of.
When you think about heading to college in the fall, is there something you are most excited about/looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to meeting new friends and decorating my dorm.
Do you have any hobbies? If so, what?
I love to paint, sing, and shop. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends.
