It’s hard to belive it has already been a week since the 2024 Heart of Indiana United Way Day of Action.

And what a day (Sept. 6) it was! According to Krista Flynn, event organizer and OCE project coordinator, “we had record a number of BSU faculty/staff members participating this year!”

Projects, Number of Participants, and Results:

Books Donations – More than 12 people participated, more than 700 adult and children’s books donated
Bookmarks – More than 12 people participated, more than 12, 200 bookmarks created
BY5 Collaboration – 24 participants, packets created for 10 daycares/29 classrooms
Camp Adventure – 6 participants worked on projects 
Cardinal Greenway – 24 people worked on projects
Emerson Dog Park – 6 people created 3 new interactive areas for dogs
Hygiene Kits – 97 participants created kits for 41 men, 55 women, and 4 kids 
Literacy Kits – 25 people created 192 kits 
Little Free Libraries – 22 people cleaned and stocked 42 Little Free Libraries
Muncie Mission – 14 people completed tasks including landscaping and powerwashing
Recovery Café – 28 people completed a variety of tasks
Snack Attack – 39 people created 1,651 bags 
Soup Kitchen of Muncie – 6 people worked at the kitchen
United Way Campaign Mailer Prep – 25 people participated
Warmth for Winter – 46 people created 35 blankets
