IRDS is happy to introduce Jonathan Voth, the new Research Associate. Originally from Michigan, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and master’s degree in Analytics from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. During his undergraduate program, Jonathan was a member of the cross country team.

Jonathan’s interest in institutional research began during his graduate program where he worked as a Graduate Assistant. Now, at Ball State, his primary focus is on developing the data warehouse and using it to tackle important questions regarding student success.

Outside of work, Jonathan is an avid runner and has completed his second half-marathon in early April (whoo-hoo!). He has also hiked the tallest mountain in Colorado, Mt. Elbert, and ran across the Grand Canyon (about 25 miles).

Jonathan shares his favorite expression and advice to students that if they’re the smartest person in the room, then they’re in the wrong room. He believes that being surrounded by the right people is a significant factor for success and happiness.

Introducing Lisa Hensell, the new Research Assistant at IRDS. Lisa was born and raised in LaPorte, Indiana, and graduated from BSU with a BA and MA in History, specializing in Public History and Digital History, respectively.

Before joining the team at IRDS, Lisa worked as the Visitor Services Manager at the Minnetrista Museum & Gardens for almost seven years. Her responsibilities included overseeing the Visitor Services team and department, managing the organizational calendar, scheduling tours, and maintaining the system that connected every department.

Although Lisa enjoyed her work as Visitor Services Manager, she found her true passion in gathering and leveraging data to fuel decisions across the organization. This passion led her to pursue a career in data, and she was thrilled to find the posting for IRDS.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys reading, journaling, hiking, movie watching, and arts & crafts with friends. A fun fact about Lisa is that she loves Monster Jam, a fact that often surprises people.

Lisa believes that listening to others and using their knowledge alongside hers can only fuel success. She looks forward to contributing her skills and knowledge to the IRDS team and making a difference with data.

The  entire office of IRDS is excited to have Jonathan and Lisa join the team and looks forward to working with them.
