Colleagues,<\/p>\n

With the start of summer hours and the release of the governor’s “Back on Track Indiana” plan released late last week, I know many of you have questions about when we will be able to start to return to the office, and about how that return will occur. The president will be sending an email announcing some additional guidance this week, and we will then follow-up with details specific to our division.<\/p>\n

Until then, we have three items to share with you:<\/p>\n

TRUST Committee:<\/strong>\u00a0At Friday’s board meeting, Sue Hodges Moore provided an update regarding the work of the TRUST Committee and their work in planning the university’s transition to more normal operations. Todd Meister is representing Information Technology on this vital committee; please continue to share questions and issues with Todd, so bring the most relevant insights to the committee for their consideration.<\/p>\n

IT Employee Survey:<\/strong>\u00a0We know that while the transition to remote work is easier for some than for others, and that several of you need to continue to come into the office for various reasons. To get your feedback and understand any challenges you might be facing, we have assembled a survey about your remote and on-campus work experience<\/a>. Please continue to work with your direct supervisor for any immediate concerns, but use the survey to help us understand what’s generally working, and if there are any concerns you have that we can help address. Also, we continue to be interested in your ideas about the budget and potential cost savings in your units. Our efforts at cost savings and reductions are looking out over the long-term, and even if we cannot use your ideas immediately, we want to consider them and possibly incorporate them into our extended planning.<\/p>\n

Laughter Yoga:<\/strong>\u00a0Our own Dr. Cindy Cash, who serves as the Functional Area Technical Liaison in Information Technology Services, is a certified “Laughter Yoga” instructor, and has graciously agreed to host one of her sessions for Information Technology staff<\/a>.\u00a0 According to Cindy, “Laughter Yoga is like a low-impact aerobic exercise (cardio workout), which brings more oxygen to the body and brain, thereby making one feel more energetic and relaxed. Join us to participate in a little online Laughter Yoga to relieve the stress of everyday life.”<\/em><\/p>\n

You can find out more about the date and time of the session in\u00a0the previous IT\u00a0blog post<\/a>. We will send out WebEx connection information to you via email on the day of the session.<\/p>\n

Finally, thank you once again for all of the efforts and work you are doing to help the university continue to fulfill our mission to serve our students.<\/p>\n
