Meet Dave Jessup! Dave is a two-time Cardinal graduate. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Health Education in 1988 and a Master of Arts in Education in Educational Administration in 2007. Chirp Chirp to this alum!
What led you to your graduate program at BSU?
I did my undergraduate degree at Ball State, and so did my mom. The reputation of Ball State and the ease of access led me to the program and to continue my education post-undergrad.
What was your proudest memory as a BSU grad student?
I was working in education at the time, and it reinforced many of the things I was doing as an athletic trainer.
How have you been able to use your graduate degree from BSU?
The organization and administration type activities have helped me organize my work, scheduling, and hiring officials. The degree complemented the whole AD job.
What advice or wisdom do you have to share with current BSU grad students?
Take advantage of internships and job shadowing, and try to look at different people’s jobs and ask questions. There are lots of different roles, so you should shadow as many people as you can outside of your area. Once you graduate, don’t be afraid to keep asking questions! Seek out your peers and people who’ve been there.
