Congratulate our 2021 Philanthropy Award Winners!
The Ball State University Foundation takes great pleasure in naming three outstanding graduates who earned the 2021 Philanthropy Award. Since 2016, the Foundation has been honoring students who strive to promote philanthropy education across campus and lead philanthropy initiatives that benefit Ball State University. We are dedicated to thanking those that made Ball State the great institution it is today.
The Alumni & Benefactors Recognition Dinner is hosted in conjunction with Homecoming on Friday, October 22. Our awardees will be celebrated with many alumni, donors, and friends for their generosity and devotion.
Let’s take a look at this year’s honored recipients:
Myra Carleton, ’21
Major: Theatre Studies with a focus in Playwriting and Theatre Management with two minors in New Works for Stage and Entrepreneurial Management
- Served as a member of the Philanthropic Education Council
- Created content and ensured engagement across social media platforms
- Top student ambassador and third-highest overall ambassador for One Ball State Day, raising more than $9,000 out of 232 participants
- President of Alpha Phi Omega
- Strother Scholarship recipient
Grace Medrano, ’21
Major: Journalism and Telecommunications
- Served as a Student Philanthropy Ambassador
- Top earning caller for Spring 2021, raising $34,000
- Raised more than $60,000 for Ball State during her time in the call center
- First in her family to graduate from college
Isaac Miller, ’21
Major: Telecommunications
- Served as a member of the Philanthropy Education Council
- Leader of student efforts for One Ball State Day
- Created video that advanced cultural outlook and philanthropy at Ball State
