Ball State University has produced more than 201,000 graduates worldwide. These individuals embody our school’s legacy as they excel in the professions, pursue their goals, and live impactful lives that benefit their communities. Some of these exceptional people choose to lend their time and talents to forge a vibrant alumni community, an organization with a history of over 100 years in the making.
In 2020, $361,261.80 was awarded through the Alumni Association Scholarships to more than 100 students. Ball State’s exceptional relationship with its alumni and students has made these programs possible and has enabled hundreds of students’ academic development over the years. Through chapters, constituent societies, and collegiate boards and departments, the BSUAA awards 30 different scholarships. New Shipley Fellows Program – Named in honor of Edwin “Ed” D. Shipley ’68, MA ’71, who served the university for 34 years, with 31 of those years as the Executive Director, President and CEO of the Alumni Association. The Shipley Fellows in the Ball State University Foundation support the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Ball State University Alumni Association in their mission to build pride and commitment to Ball State, serve graduates near and far, and uphold lifelong connections with alumni and our alma mater. Each year, two Shipley Fellow Scholarships are awarded; one to an undergraduate student and one to a graduate student. These students work for Foundation Alumni Engagement staff whose job is to keep the passion for Ball State alive and help alumni stay connected, engaged, and remain loyal Cardinals for life. To be awarded in Fall 2021; two recipients will receive $10,000 each. Learn more.
