\"March<\/a>Overwhelmed by stacks of papers? Ready to go online, but not sure how it will affect your response practices?\u00a0The Writing Program’s next\u00a0First Friday\u00a0Series speakers can help.\u00a0Recipients of the\u00a0Writing Program’s\u00a02013 Summer Research Fellowship, Dr. Jennifer Grouling,\u00a0English department assistant professor and director of the Writing Center, and Aly Schweigert, graduate assistant director of the Writing Center,\u00a0will present “Commenting with Technology: Responding to Student Writing in the Age of Apps.”<\/p>\n

This presentation and workshop will\u00a0look\u00a0at the ways our commenting changes when we move from grading on hardcopy to Blackboard to the iPad. Grouling and Schweigert\u00a0report the results of a research study looking at instructor comments in a variety of formats. They’ll\u00a0also talk you through using the\u00a0iPad to respond to student work, including the use of Dropbox and Notability. This workshop will help you think about your current commenting practices and how those practices might be impacted by technology.<\/p>\n

All are welcome to join us Friday, March 7 at 10:00 AM\u00a0in the Schwartz Digital Viewing Room, located on the first floor of Bracken Library. Bring an iPad if you have one.<\/p>\n
