Just in time for Spring 2014 registration, we have exciting information to share about a new interdisciplinary minor offered jointly by\u00a0the Department of English and the Department of Telecommunications\u2014an 18-hour minor in Film and Screenwriting.\u00a0 This semester, you will be able to add the minor by filling out the appropriate form in our advising office in RB 116 and registering for the courses that you\u2019ll need.<\/p>\n

Here are the requirements:<\/p>\n

ENGLISH
\n285 Introduction to Creative Writing
\n310 Screenwriting
\n410 Advanced Screenwriting or<\/strong> 425 Film Studies<\/p>\n

TCOM
\n360 World Film History 1
\n363 Film Genres
\n361 World Film History 2 or<\/strong> 465 Seminar in Film Theory or <\/strong>365 Documentary Film History<\/p>\n

The departments of English and Telecommunications have a long history of interdisciplinary collaboration, most prominently in the Cinema Entertainment Immersion <\/a>program in which students write, direct, and produce short films.\u00a0 We are excited to jointly offer this program and to give Ball State students an exciting opportunity to develop their skills in screenwriting and their knowledge of film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
