As the weather is cooling down, homecoming spirit at Ball State is warming up. Today kicks off a week of events that lead up to the game on Saturday, October 13th<\/sup> against Western Michigan. Highlights during the week include bed races, air jam, a talent search, and the parade. These events and the game are centered on the theme for this year\u2019s homecoming, \u201cPlay Your Cards Right.\u201d This time of year brings alumni, students, and faculty together to celebrate their pride as a Cardinal.<\/p>\n

Homecoming is a time-honored event here at Ball State, and there are many ways to celebrate the impressive accomplishments of the university.\u00a0 Students, faculty, and alumni have much to be proud of, and our enthusiasm is especially prominent during this special week.<\/p>\n

Did you know that the number of people who visit the David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) annually can more than fill Scheumann Stadium? The stadium holds 22,500 and DOMA has over 31,000 visitors a year!<\/p>\n

\u00a0The David Owsley Museum of Art is something to be particularly proud of and recognize during Homecoming.\u00a0 As we celebrate and express our Ball State pride, we here at the museum look at how far the museum has come and think about the exciting changes occurring this year.\u00a0Renovations are\u00a0underway\u00a0that will increase the\u00a0gallery space by\u00a0fifty percent. \u00a0With over 10,000 objects spanning the past 5,000 years, the collection is astounding, diverse, and rich in cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

In between classes and Homecoming events, be sure to stop by and visit the museum to see all it has to offer. You will find an excellent collection of European and American art from the Middle Ages through the contemporary era on view while renovations to the\u00a0Ethnographic, Ancient, and Asian galleries are ongoing. For a more in-depth look at the history of the collection at the David Owsley Museum of Art, we encourage you to stop by in between the festivities at 2:30 Saturday, October 13 for Tour Time with museum docent, Vinny Pucciarelli.<\/p>\n

The hours of the museum are:
\nMonday\u2013Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
\nSaturday\u2013Sunday, 1:30-4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
