Each issue of the <em>DLR <\/em>will focus on a compelling theme that inspires original, thought-provoking research. In its current theme of Food Matters in Literature and Culture, this journal will feature pieces that examine representations of food in various aspects of culture, such as film, literature, and television. This annual, student-run journal is a product of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsu.edu\/\">Ball State University\u2019s<\/a> immersive learning initiative and is supported by the <a href=\"http:\/\/(http\/\/cms.bsu.edu\/academics\/collegesanddepartments\/english\">BSU English Department<\/a> and the Office of the Provost.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Digital Literature Review<\/em> is looking for submissions for our eighth issue, titled \u201cFood Matters in Literature and Culture.\u201d We welcome original, engaging submissions that consider representations of food in literature, film, television, or popular culture. In particular, we are interested in scholarly essays that consider food as a vehicle for exploring issues of inequity and empowerment, including but not limited to race, gender, class, ability, sexuality, and nationality. We also welcome submissions that examine representations of food within the context of the current COVID-19 public health crisis.
