We\u2019ve collected all the good news from across the college and put it all in one place.<\/p>\n<h3>Awards<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dr. Nimish Valvi,<\/strong> Assistant Professor of Epidemiology, was awarded a 5-year CDC collaborative grant to improve the health and the care of people living with congenital heart defects.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"x193iq5w xeuugli x13faqbe x1vvkbs xlh3980 xvmahel x1n0sxbx x1lliihq x1s928wv xhkezso x1gmr53x x1cpjm7i x1fgarty x1943h6x xudqn12 x3x7a5m x6prxxf xvq8zen xo1l8bm xzsf02u x1yc453h\" dir=\"auto\"><strong>Mrs. Lisa Beck<\/strong>, Senior Lecturer of Health Science, received a 2024 Canvas Innovator Award for her Canvas design submitted as part of the Canvas Design Jam. Mrs. Beck was one of three faculty to be selected for this award in a competition organized by the Division of Online and Strategic Learning.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dr. Ronald Dolon,<\/strong> Professor of Social Work, was honored with the Rosalie Wolf Memorial Elder Abuse Prevention Award at the Institute of Violence, Abuse, and Trauma Summit in San Diego, California this past August.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Robin Cooper,<\/strong> Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing, who received a 2024 Sigma Phi Epsilon, Indiana Gamma Chapter, Outstanding Faculty Award at their awards ceremony held on 9\/22\/2024. Annually the chapter recognizes three members of the Ball State faculty for their outstanding teaching and work with students.<\/li>\n<li>Kinesiology faculty members <strong>Andrea McMurtry, Shannon Powers, Sheli Plummer, Clark Dickin, and Eric Klosterman<\/strong>, were selected by members of the Ball State Women\u2019s Soccer Team to be honored at the September 19, Professors on the Pitch event.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dorice Hankemeier,<\/strong> Associate Chair School of Kinesiology, Associate Professor of Athletic Training and Graduate Athletic Training Program Director, \u00a0was recently named a Distinguished Fellow in the Athletic Training Academy of the National Academies of Practice. The National Academies of Practice is comprised of several healthcare disciplines which focus on improving the healthcare system through interprofessional collaboration dedicated to supporting affordable, accessible and coordinated quality care for all.
