BA<\/strong> \u2013 Houghton College in New York<\/p>\n

Majored in Psychology and minored Sociology<\/p>\n

MA<\/strong> \u2013 University of Texas<\/p>\n

Majored in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family<\/p>\n

What first interested you in psychology? <\/strong><\/p>\n

My mom was a college professor and taught child psychology. When I was younger, I would sit in her classes and really enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

What brought you to Ball State?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was looking for new opportunities within the field, and it\u2019s exciting with this being my first time working at a university.<\/p>\n

Please describe your role within the department.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am an adjunct faculty member, teaching an advanced practicum course. Outside of this role, I am a therapist at the Youth Opportunity Center (YOC) in Muncie, and I also own Still Waters Professional Counseling.<\/p>\n

What are your favorite hobbies?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I love playing sports, basketball specifically. I also enjoy watching college football (go Michigan!), spending time with my English Mastiff dog, and reading.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite time of the day and why? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not a morning person, so I would say the evenings. I can get a lot done in the evenings or just spend time relaxing.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s something about you that people would be surprised to know? <\/strong><\/p>\n

I can ride a unicycle!<\/p>\n

How do you practice self-care?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I enjoy reading, doing activities outside, getting manicures and pedicures, and putting time into my spiritual life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
