The Healthy Lifestyle Center at Ball State University is introducing a new podcast series, Habits<\/em>, set to debut on January 31st. Habits<\/em> is a health-focused podcast that will feature interviews with research and community experts, community organizers, and community members to provide insight into various health topics that influence the lives of East Central Indiana citizens. Funding and support for the podcast has been provided by a grant from the Indiana State Department of Health, with the aim of reinforcing the workforce of community health professionals across this region of the state.<\/p>\n

Dr. Christina Doll, Associate Professor of Health Education and Promotion, will serve as the director of the podcast series, aided by undergraduate and graduate students across the university. \u201cThe podcast will serve as an important health information resource for those across our local communities. We\u2019ll hope that our listeners will learn something new each episode, whether that be innovative research findings from one of our faculty experts or accessible resources from one of our community informants.\u201d Each episode will focus on an interesting, local health topic, including healthy eating, maternal and infant health, and even how to keep your New Year\u2019s resolution.<\/p>\n

The Healthy Lifestyle Center is a community-based resource center located in the Health Professions Building at Ball State University, featuring free services for nutrition; physical activity; behavior change; medical education; screening services for blood pressure, A1C, sleep studies, and substance use; and navigating socio-economic challenges from graduate students and faculty across the College of Health as well as trained medical professionals from IU Health Ball Memorial.
