School of Kinesiology
Mike Dalgety, Associate Teaching Professor of Sport Administration and Coordinator of Sport Administration Graduate Program, was named one of the first ten High Impact Practices Ambassadors at Ball State. This honor recognizes the time, effort, and care faculty have devoted to developing high impact classes and their willingness to continue to serve as campus leaders for HIPs. Congratulations to Mike on this honor.

Presentations at the international conference of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP):
4 students presenting: Adam Smith, Charlotte Mohn, Grace DiVincenzo, and Hailey Farrell.
Dr. Tom Gretton, an alum of our program, was also part of the keynote speakers in a panel on mental performance in sport officiating.
Awards:
Adam Smith (alum) received the student abstract award.
Dr. Brian Foster (alum) was the 2025 recipient of the AASP Foundation Teaching Excellence Award.
School of Nursing:
Jennifer Bell, Assistant Clinical Lecturer in the School of Nursing, served as the keynote speaker for the Red Ribbon Breakfast for Delaware County at Cornerstone for the Arts on 10/21. She spoke on addiction and recovery.
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing TRANSFORM 2025 conference accepted the school of nursing’s abstract submission for podium presentation: “Codes, Clues and Cognitive Gains: A Cardiac Escape Room to Transform Future Nurses”. This submission highlights the creation, integration, and evaluation of the cardiac escape room simulation for NUR 430 senior students. Learn More

ECI-AHEC presented Appreciation Awards to the Ball State University Counseling Psychology Department, the Ball State University Practicum Clinic, and the IU Health/ Ball Memorial Hospital Medical Associates – Psychology department for our appreciation in the collaboration of the clinical placements for health professions students through the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) grant, as well as the trainings and continuing education events for practicing healthcare professionals. Topics of trainings have included: Social Determinants of Health, Neurodiverse Universe, Healing Trauma: The Cortina Method, and Eating Disorders. Accepting the award for Ball State University Counseling Psychology Department is Dr. Sharon Bowman. Accepting the award for the Ball State University Practicum Clinic is Dr. Lina Burkhart and Dr. Nicholas Lee. Accepting the award for the IU Health/ Ball Memorial Hospital Medical Associates – Psychology department is Dr. Eric Lester. This four-way partnership has helped our students to achieve success and provide our communities with a high-quality healthcare workforce.
