Nursing Escape Room, Patient Simulation

Club Medic is an experience all its own, where we hosted twenty high school students for a full week campus experience. Thanks to a grant from Eli-Lilly we were able to create some memorable experiences with future health professionals. This camp was the third headed by Dr. Jacob Werst, of East Central Indiana Area Health Education Center. Werst, who finished his PhD this past spring, has accepted a teaching position at Butler in the fall.
The camp’s schedule chock full of fun activities in and out of the classrooms, reflects his hard work and dedication to Ball State, and the College of Health. He, with the help of many throughout Ball State, has built up a wonderful camp experience for students encompassing all the health disciplines.

Werst says of this year’s camp, “I loved seeing how my counselors connected with students and how my colleagues in the College helped campers find a path into one of our programs. This camp has been an amazing opportunity for so many students.”

Students at this year’s camp had a wonderful time experiencing health professions.
This camp experience will be undergoing some changes as we plan for the school visits this fall, and the overnight camp in 2026. If you’d like to learn more about College of Health Programs, you can visit our website.
