The Nursing Simulation and Information Technology Team welcomes Matthew Zeller who completes our team roster and closes vacancy gaps, effective January 13, 2025. Matthew will work with our NURSINGSIT team, supporting Information Technology needs for faculty, students, & simulation experiences.

Dr. Melissa McGrath, assistant professor of speech-language pathology: Student Outreach for Parkinson’s Disease, an initiative expanding student-led support for individuals and care partners affected by Parkinson’s was awarded a grant of $26,000 by the Ball State University Women of Beneficence.

The 2025 Applied Sports Management Association Conference (ASMA) was fruitful for the School of Kinesiology. Congratulations to all for outstanding work.
Graduate Students, Grace Dawes, Nicole Donnelly, and Sydney Sparks won the Case Study Competition.
Undergraduate students, Ben Carr, Adam Navarro, Lily Stogdill and Jenna Wade were runners-up in the case study competition.

Dr. Lawrence Judge was recognized as an ASMA Research Fellow. This award recognizes scholars who have demonstrated a commitment to ASMA and its vision as well as distinction in applied sport management research. This award honors the scholarly contributions these researchers have disseminated through the ASMA conference and its official journal, the Journal of Applied Sport Management (JASM). Since its inception, Dr. Judge is the 5th recipient of this prestigious award.

ACDC’s Research featured in a Case Study

The Addictions Coalition of Delaware County featured in a Case Study of the Addiction Policy Forum. “The Addictions Coalition of Delaware County is grateful to have been chosen to be a part of this project with the Addiction Policy Forum and the University of Delaware. The data reveals both encouraging progress in how our community views addiction—as a health issue, not a moral failing—and important areas where misconceptions still persist. These insights are vital for shaping compassionate, effective responses to substance use disorders in our community,” said Dr. Jean Marie Place, Associate Professor of Public Health at Ball State University, and member of the ACDC.
